Something old, something new — The Asian version of Critical Ops, Critical Ops: Reloaded tested in player conference in Seoul, South-Korea

On July 29, 2018, Critical Force Korea (CFK) and NHN Entertainment Corp. (NHN) had a gameplay preview and player conference at the NHNE headquarters in Seoul in support of their upcoming game Critical Ops: Reloaded. Two days of player testing culminated to the player conference which has now ended. Video coverage of the event can be found in primarily Korean language on YouTube with the Q&A session in English. The players that took part in this event previewed the features for the game in advance of the closed alpha test which will precede the soft launch expected within this year.

Critical Ops: Reloaded (C-OPS:R) is a completely new C-OPS experience designed for Asian players that began its localization in 2017. Once the developers are comfortable with the quality of the game, it will be available for a soft launch anticipated by the end of 2018.

While maintaining the same gameplay as C-OPS, the new variation, Reloaded, will have features currently exclusive to the Asian Market including:

  • Practice game mode against AI
  • More Asian Languages
  • Localized menu and UI elements
  • Improved design relating to party/friend/loadout screens
  • New Anti-Cheat System
  • The ability for Asian players to migrate accounts from C-OPS West to C-OPS:R (current status of C-OPS West in Asian region undetermined)
  • There will be no Pay-to-Win -elements

All these features will be available for the soft launch.

“While we are planning a select number of localized Asian specific features for the Reloaded variation of the game, we will have an identical gameplay experience on both variations of the final game”, says Aku Mähönen, Lead Game Designer, Korea

The potential closed beta test will be managed by NHN who will process applications. More information will be available through them.
