For immediate release
Finland based mobile game studio Critical Force announces some crucial changes in their key personnel, applying from February 22nd 2019. The founder and former CEO Veli-Pekka Piirainen will be concentrating on his tasks as the Chairman Of the Board, as the brand new CEO Sami Tolonen takes the reins of the company. Tolonen has worked as the CFO at Critical Force since January 2018.
“Both, the Board of Critical Force and I myself have great expectations for Sami and confidence in his capability in bringing the company on a new level”, says Piirainen, who founded the company in 2012.
In addition to the experience in the game industry, Tolonen (M.Sc. in Econ. and BA) has gained his merits as a strong financial expert in various positions in business administration and finance (e.g. Deloitte and BDO), and he has started his challenge in leading the game studio’s growth with great enthusiasm. The goal is to increase the company’s revenue by improving the KPI’s of the flagship game Critical Ops. The mobile FPS is a pioneer in the competitive genre on mobile devices and has a million daily players all over the globe. The total number of downloads is already verging 60 million.
Critical Force has grown rapidly in the past couple of years. During the last months, the company has focused on optimizing business operations and gained more efficiency and new sharpness. “Critical Force and Critical Ops both have great potential. At the moment it is important to concentrate on improving business activities along with the game development. We have very positive views for the future”, says the new CEO, Sami Tolonen.
